In early June 2025, Private Mortgages Australia (PMA) held its annual company conference in Sydney. This event provided an opportunity to reaffirm our corporate mission and strategise how we can more effectively deliver tailored private business loan solutions across Australia.
We are pleased to share several key updates that reflect our ongoing commitment to improving broker partnerships and streamlining access to private business loans in Australia.

As part of our pledge to “empower Australian businesses to borrow with ease,” PMA is introducing a more efficient and user-friendly loan application process. These updates are designed to provide brokers and their clients with greater flexibility and faster access to business finance.
Say good-bye to the Accountant Letter and Management Fees
In response to valuable broker feedback, PMA has removed two key barriers in the loan application process:
In anticipation of potential rate adjustments by the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA), PMA has taken proactive steps to reduce our interest rates ahead of time. Effective immediately:
These new rates come with no ongoing management fees and no exit fees, providing even more value to clients seeking private business loans in Australia. Importantly, this decision has been finalised independently of the RBA’s future announcements.
Celebrating Shanta Lobo's Remarkable ServiceWe would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Shanta Lobo, General Manager – Relations, who will be retiring from her role at PMA to spend more time with her family.
Shanta has been instrumental in upholding PMA’s commitment to excellent client service and relationship management, and her contributions have significantly shaped the growth of our company.
We wish Shanta all the best in this well-deserved next chapter of life and thank her sincerely for her outstanding service.
Welcoming Dushen Tissera as Relationship ManagerAs Shanta prepares for her retirement on 4 July 2025, we are pleased to announce that Dushen Tissera will step into the role of Relationship Manager. Dushen brings with him valuable experience from his time on PMA’s Credit Committee, where he developed an in-depth understanding of our full suite of loan products.
His extensive product knowledge is a significant asset, enabling him to accurately assess loan feasibility and help streamline the application process for brokers and clients alike. With his energy, expertise, and strong commitment to service, Dushen is well-positioned to uphold the high standards our partners have come to expect from PMA.
In line with growing demand for private business loans in Australia, PMA is actively expanding its team. We are currently seeking Relationship / Business Development Managers to help us better serve our network of brokers and clients.
